Wet weather is causing disruptions to post section play in both the Andersons Pies-sponsored Taranaki women’s Open pairs and the Auto City-sponsored Taranaki men’s Christmas pairs.
Women’s pairs: The Tower greens are under water. There will not be any play before 12 noon. A further announcement for the day will be made at 10am.
Men’s pairs: The Paritutu greens also have a lot of water, especially the B green. The Indoor complex will be used to commence play, with the hope that the forecasted improving weather will arrive.
Note that at 9am the following games will take place inside: Frank Klenner, Murray Dalton (Inglewood) v Neil Earley, Len Spick (Inglewood); Brian Pearce, Iain Parker (Stratford–Avon) v Grant Hassall, John Sexton (West End); Darren Goodin, Don Christensen (Paritutu) v Ross Henderson, John Dickinson (West End); Grant Anderson, Mark Anderson (Tower) v Graham Baxter, Nigel Berry (Hawera Park); Adam Collins, Ian Andrews (Paritutu) v Dave Wilson, John Garrud (West End); Paul Darbyshire, Steve Temperton (West End) v Brendon Walton, Eddie Betts (Paritutu).
Further note that an announcement on all other games will be made at 9am. All games in the men’s pairs have been reduced to 18 ends for today.
